About Us

At the heart of Nuneaton

St Nicolas Parish Church is right at the heart of Nuneaton and part of the Church of England in the Diocese of Coventry. We have the only Grade 1 listed building in Nuneaton although it has been adapted and changed over the centuries to meet the needs of the community. Indeed the church here has been serving the community since 1130AD!

Church means people. For many centuries ordinary local people have met in this place to pray together and to open their lives to God through worship, sacrament and Bible teaching. That’s why we have such a beautiful building today – because of those ordinary Christians, who exercised their faith in Jesus Christ in part by caring for, adapting and developing their ‘church’ in order to serve Christ more effectively in their day and age.

St Nicolas today continues that tradition. Here you will meet a living community of very different people who are seeking to follow Jesus and live out his purpose for their daily lives.

As a church we work closely with St James Church, Weddington and Caldecote. We also have links with St Nicolas C of E School.

St Nicolas’ parish covers the surrounding areas east of the church and includes Horeston Grange and St Nicolas Park. Our aim is to serve God and our neighbourhood; with this in mind we offer a feast of services and activities for people of all ages and stages of life together with a building that is a resource for the local community and offers a home to many groups.

Worshipping God

We meet and exist to worship God

Making Disciples

We are called to grow in our faith through prayer, learning and sharing our faith. We want to invest in the next generation and be involved in helping faith, discipleship and church become more accessible to a new generation.

Transforming Community

We want to develop a sense of community within the church and forge greater links with the wider community beyond the church – serving Nuneaton with the love of God
